The Last Honest Sauna Company
We’re not good at this. The marketing thing, I mean.
We don’t have a social media team. We don’t pay influencers to pose in our saunas with their morning smoothies. We don’t have slick commercials or million-dollar ad campaigns. What we have is 28+ years of building saunas, a staff full of doctors and healthcare practitioners, and an almost stubborn commitment to doing things right.
High Tech Health has been making infrared saunas since 1997. Same family. Same management. Same refusal to cut corners. While other companies have come and gone, merged and rebranded, we’re still here in Colorado doing what we’ve always done. We are now the longest running infrared sauna company in the country.
Who Actually Works Here
Here’s something that might surprise you. Our team includes an electrical engineer, a medical doctor, a chiropractor, a holistic health practitioner, a nutritionist, a biochemist, a biologist, and even a psychotherapist. Not sales reps reading scripts from a call center. Actual healthcare professionals who understand what infrared does to the human body and why it matters how you build a sauna.
When you call us, you get someone who can answer your health questions. Not someone trying to upsell you on warranty packages.
Most of our competitors are owned by marketing executives or funded by investors who’ve never spent serious time studying wellness. Some are run by young influencers with massive followings and very little understanding of what they’re selling. They have budgets to flood your Instagram feed. We put our money into research and innovation instead.

The High Tech Health Colorado and California Teams
We Pioneered Low EMF. Then We Patented It.
Back when other companies weren’t even thinking about electromagnetic fields, we recognized that surrounding yourself with high-powered heaters for 30 minutes at a time might not be great if those heaters are pumping out dangerous levels of EMF. So we did something about it.
We didn’t follow the low EMF trend. We created it.
In 2017, we were awarded the US patent on low EMF sauna heaters. The first technology to reduce both electric AND magnetic fields. Other companies only address one and call it “low EMF.” Some don’t reduce either but use misleading testing methods to make their numbers look good.
Our Ideal Spectrum heaters feature patented Triple Antifield technology. We had Vitatech Electromagnetics, the industry standard for EMF testing, find the HIGHEST fields they could measure. Our electric field at the heater surface? 0.089 V/m. Compare that to other saunas at over 2,000 V/m. Our magnetic field at the backrest? 0.40 mG. Compare that to 80 mG in typical infrared saunas.
We wrote a whole article on how to spot trustworthy EMF reports because so many companies manipulate their data. A six-page report tells you everything you need. Companies with 30-page reports are usually hiding something.
We Use Real Wood. Just Wood.
Most sauna companies hide plywood behind their finished panels. Plywood means layers of glue. Glue means formaldehyde. Formaldehyde means you’re breathing in a known carcinogen while you’re supposed to be detoxifying.
We use 100% solid poplar or hemlock. No plywood. No particle board. No filler wood. No shortcuts.
For decades, the sauna industry marketed the aromatic scent of cedar, spruce, and pine as a luxury feature. In reality, that “woodsy” smell comes from volatile terpenes and phenols. Natural insecticides that trees produce to repel pests. When heated to 140 degrees or higher, these compounds vaporize. For a healthy person, they’re mild irritants. For someone detoxing from environmental illness, they’re a biological burden that defeats the purpose of being in the sauna.
Poplar has been the wood of choice for environmental health clinics for decades. It produces virtually no volatile terpenes. It’s the only wood that allows people with severe chemical sensitivities to safely use a sauna. Dr. William Rae’s Environmental Health Center in Dallas only uses saunas made from poplar wood. So do we.
As Dr. Sherry Rogers, one of the world’s foremost experts on environmental medicine, put it: “The best way to get rid of heavy metals and pesticide residues? The Infrared Sauna. My searching led me to a very reputable company, High Tech Health.”
The Only Sauna With Active Ventilation
Here’s something nobody else talks about. In any enclosed space, every breath you exhale releases carbon dioxide. In a small sauna cabin, CO2 builds up fast. That stuffy, air-hungry feeling that makes you want to cut your session short? That’s not just discomfort. That’s your body telling you it’s not getting enough oxygen.
Other saunas offer passive ventilation at best. Open a vent or close it. That’s your only option.
We engineered active ventilation. A fan system that actively pulls in fresh oxygen-rich air while pushing out CO2-laden air. Our testing shows active ventilation maintains about 46% lower carbon dioxide concentration compared to passive ventilation during a session.
This matters more than most people realize. When you’re in a sauna to detoxify, your body needs oxygen to do its job. Carbon dioxide displacing oxygen doesn’t just make you feel drowsy or claustrophobic. It actually limits your body’s ability to eliminate toxins. People end up cutting their sessions short because they feel awful, then wonder why they’re not getting the results they expected. The problem isn’t the sauna therapy. The problem is they’re breathing recycled air in a poorly ventilated box. We solved this the same way your home handles air quality, with active circulation that keeps the environment healthy throughout your entire session.
The result? You can relax deeper, stay in longer, and come out feeling refreshed instead of drained. Every Transcend sauna includes active ventilation standard. Nobody else offers this.

34% More Effective Heaters
We didn’t just make our heaters safer. We made them better.
We compared our Transcend heater architecture to the panel heaters used by all the other leading brands. In a side-by-side test with a beaker of water in front of each heater, our sauna heated the water 34% faster.
This matters because our heaters produce more far infrared light and direct it better toward your body. More infrared means your core temperature rises faster. Faster core temperature rise means you activate heat shock proteins sooner. That’s where the real health benefits come from.
Our heaters also reach peak infrared output in under 5 minutes. Most other saunas need 30 to 45 minutes to warm up. Ours is ready in 10 to 15 minutes. And we’ve never had to replace a heater in the history of the company. Not one.
The World’s First Intelligent Sauna
For the past few years, we’ve been developing something nobody else has. The Sauna Guide is a technology that can actually predict your body’s response to sauna therapy.
We collected thousands of core body temperature measurements from people using our saunas. We discovered we could build a system that predicts an individual’s body temperature as it responds to our specific infrared. With just seven simple questions about height, weight, and a few other factors, the Transcend Smart Sauna can show you what’s happening in your body during a session.
It measures something we call Sauna Fitness. It’s predictive biofeedback that gives you a glimpse into what’s happening at the cellular level. For first-time users, it makes everything simple and guided. For biohackers, it quantifies your progress and helps you achieve results beyond anything previously possible from a sauna.
The Sauna Guide’s calendar shows you the relative benefit of when you choose to use the sauna next and the shortest session necessary for the progress you want. It’s like having a team of experts with you every day.

We Don’t Chase Trends
You’ve probably heard of “full spectrum” saunas. It sounds impressive. Near infrared, mid infrared, far infrared. More must be better, right?
Actually, no. “Full spectrum” is a marketing term invented around 2009. There’s no regulation or standard for what it means. And the research on near infrared in saunas? It shows potential harm to eyes and skin, not benefits.
We looked at the science. All the peer-reviewed studies showing health benefits used far infrared only. So that’s what we build. We’re not going to add something to our saunas just because competitors are marketing it. Will we ever include NIR heaters in our saunas? Maybe. When we find a way to do it safely and responsibly, and we can prove that it actually shows benefits.
Some people think this makes us slow. We think it makes us careful. We’re not interested in “move fast and break things.” We’re interested in getting it right.
What the Experts Say
We’ve been recommended by more doctors and health practitioners than any other sauna company. Dr. Stephen Sinatra, a board-certified cardiologist, uses his High Tech Health sauna nearly every day. Dr. Jonathan Wright, who graduated from Harvard cum laude and is an expert in nutritional biochemistry, has referenced our products in his newsletter. Even Dr. Robert Atkins owned our products and recommended them.
Since 1994, we’ve been featured in over 40 books by some of the most respected names in health. Not because we paid for placement. Because doctors who understand the science trust what we build.
The Reality of Being a Small Company
The image here is our president and chief technician assembling a TR2 infrared sauna in our Boulder, CO headquarters.
We don’t have a dedicated graphics team making beautiful marketing videos. We don’t have a content department churning out social posts. We have a small team that wears many hats and takes personal pride in every sauna that leaves our facility.
And honestly? It’s frustrating sometimes.
We watch companies with massive marketing budgets flood social media with claims we know aren’t accurate. “Low EMF” saunas that only address magnetic fields and ignore electric fields entirely. “Full spectrum” marketed as a benefit when there’s no peer-reviewed science to support it. Meanwhile, we’ve spent decades doing the hard work. Researching. Testing. Engineering solutions to problems most companies don’t even acknowledge exist.
Here’s the irony. We’ve come across competitors who use our research, our papers, even our website as references in their own marketing. They cite our work to sell their products. They benefit from the science we developed while building saunas that don’t meet the standards we set.
Someone researches infrared saunas because they’re dealing with chronic pain, or trying to detoxify from environmental illness, or hoping to support their cardiovascular health. They see a polished Instagram ad or a YouTube video with a million views. They buy a sauna from a company that spent more on marketing than engineering. We wish we could reach those people first.

We’ve spent decades working with environmental medicine doctors and some of the sickest patients in the country. We’ve seen what actually helps people and what doesn’t. We can’t unknow that. We can’t pretend cutting corners is fine just because it sells well.
Our revenue goes toward R&D, better materials, and our specialized health team. Maybe we make less on each sale because we use medical-grade poplar instead of cheap basswood. Maybe our heaters cost more because they’re actually low EMF and proven 34% more effective.
We’re okay with that. We’d rather build something we’re proud of for the people who find us than compromise everything we stand for to chase the people who don’t.
Real 3rd Party Testing
Most sauna companies make health claims. We prove ours. Our saunas undergo rigorous independent testing by UL, FCC, and certified third-party laboratories for EMF levels and VOC emissions. Our heaters are one of the only infrared heaters that are a UL recognized component because they’re one of the only heaters that can meet Underwriters Laboratory’s strict design requirements.
When we say our saunas are the safest, we have the documentation to back it up.
What We Actually Care About
We answer when you call. We don’t try to pressure you into a quick sale. We’ll spend an hour on the phone explaining how infrared works and whether a sauna is actually right for your situation. Sometimes the honest answer is that you don’t need one, or that you should wait.
We fanatically support our customers. We know our products inside and out. We understand deeply about healthcare. When you talk to us, you’re talking to people who can discuss everything from cardiovascular benefits to chronic fatigue and mitochondrial health to managing inflammation.
We’ve been doing this since 1997. Same values. Same focus. We’re not going anywhere.
If you want fancy marketing and influencer endorsements, there are plenty of options out there. If you want a sauna built by people who actually understand health, designed with the lowest EMF in the industry, made from materials that won’t off-gas toxins into your lungs, with active ventilation that nobody else offers, heaters proven 34% more effective, and backed by people who will actually talk to you about your health goals?
That’s what we do.
We’re scientists and health practitioners. Not marketing execs and sales people.
