Transcend TRS-1
34% more far infrared reaching your body than a carbon-panel sauna, and the only sauna that models what each session did for you, then tells you when the next one matters most. Designed in Boulder, Colorado since 1997. From $7,395.
Transcend TRS-1
Built for people who want their sauna to do more than heat up. It knows how your body is adapting, shows your progress, and helps you decide when to sauna and how long to stay — bringing the research behind heat adaptation into every session so you can get more from the time you have.
Our smallest footprint, designed for one. The diagonal bench creates more room around your shoulders and elbows than a conventional straight bench, so the cabin feels surprisingly open for its size.

Heater Efficacy
Better heaters make better use of your time. In our testing, Transcend heaters delivered 34% greater far-infrared absorption than a carbon-panel sauna at the same air temperature.
Far-infrared heaters vs. a carbon-panel sauna at matched 100°F air temperature. Calorimetry, 1 L water beaker, 15 min.

Ready When You Are
Once you’re inside, the 10.1″ display keeps things simple: one touch restores your last settings, or just tell the sauna what you want. Voice commands are processed inside the sauna, so nothing is sent over the internet.
See how your body is adapting.
Most saunas count minutes. Sauna Fitness shows progress.
Using your personal profile, sauna history, and a physiological model developed from thousands of core-temperature measurements, it estimates how your body responds to heat and translates your accumulated heat adaptation into a simple Sauna Fitness score.
As your body adapts, you can see that progress build over time, giving you feedback that no ordinary sauna can provide.

Know when to sauna and how much you need.
Heat adaptation builds with repeated exposure, then gradually fades with time. Sauna Guide combines that research together with your Sauna Fitness and sauna history to help you decide what to do next.
Its calendar shows how worthwhile another session is on each upcoming day and how long you need to stay to keep progressing — so you can choose the sessions that matter most and make better use of the time you have.
It turns the science of heat adaptation into practical guidance you can use.

Beyond the Heat

Meditations
Written and voiced for the sauna specifically, not a generic app playing in a hot room.

Soundscapes
Unhurried sound designed for heat and stillness, filling the cabin from the built-in speakers.

Guided Breathing
Five fully customizable breathing programs help you slow your breathing, settle your nervous system, and relax more deeply.

Podcasts
Thousands of shows through the cabin speakers, controlled from the screen. Your phone can stay outside.

Bluetooth Audio
Your own music or shows, with track, artist, and album on screen. Control from the screen or your phone.

Chromotherapy
96 LEDs sit behind a diffuser that blends them into one continuous square of light. Bright enough to read by, or to fill the cabin with any of 12 colors.

All Fields Mitigated and Measured
Most low-EMF saunas address one field: magnetic. Triple Antifield™ addresses three — magnetic, electric and radio-frequency — throughout the sauna, not just at the heaters. The approach extends to the wiring, controls, and cabin as a whole.
A third party measured our heaters at the distance your back rests from them. The figures below are the highest readings found, not the most flattering ones. We think that’s the only way a number like this means anything. Ask any brand you’re considering: which fields, at what distance, and is the full report published?
Highest reading found at the backrest, not a typical value. Third-party measured.

Report →Smart EMF Mode™ removes Bluetooth & Wi-Fi during your session.

App Control, Without Added RF
App-controlled saunas typically keep Wi-Fi broadcasting near your body throughout the session — even when their heaters are designed to minimize EMF.
The Smart EMF Mode™ option takes a different approach. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turn off automatically when your session begins and come back on when you’re finished. If you want network access during a session, wired Ethernet lets you stay connected without adding wireless RF.

10-Year Limited Warranty
We can offer it because of what’s behind it: High Tech Health is a family-owned company dating back to 1983. We’ve specialized in infrared saunas since 1997 and continue to design every Transcend in Boulder, Colorado. Every cabin is crafted to the millimeter, assembled and tested before it ships, against quality-control standards that run to hundreds of pages. In our entire history, no Transcend heater has ever failed in the field.
Far Infrared Now. Full Spectrum If You Want It.
Every Transcend currently ships with our far-infrared front heaters — the configuration we recommend based on the research.
For a limited time, you can also reserve our upcoming Full Spectrum front-heater set for $300. It ships separately when available, expected January, and swaps in for the far-infrared front heaters in minutes. That means you don’t have to decide between them: you can own both.
We recommend far infrared, and we publish the research behind that recommendation.
Our full spectrum front heaters leave no touchable surface hot enough to burn you.

Active ventilation
In an enclosed cabin, carbon dioxide climbs fast. It is why saunas get stuffy, why the heat starts to feel “heavy,” and why a good session might end early. Passive vents rely on natural airflow and do little to prevent that buildup.
Our active ventilation mechanically exchanges cabin air throughout your session, so fresh air keeps moving even as the cabin stays hot.
Poplar or Okoume

Poplar (European Aspen)
The wood Finns have used for sauna benches for generations. We were the first to bring poplar to infrared saunas, choosing it specifically for environmentally sensitive customers — years before lower-cost basswood was introduced as an alternative.
Pale yellow to nearly white in color, with a fine, light-colored grain, no knots, and almost no scent. It remains the wood specified by environmental medicine clinics.

Okoume
Same solid construction, same heaters, same ventilation, and same field mitigation as poplar. Often chosen when a darker wood is preferred.
Its appearance is sometimes described as mahogany-like, though the wood itself is okoume.

A Backrest For Every Back
Thirty minutes is a long time to sit against a flat wall. Ours is contoured with a real lumbar curve, and it hangs on pegs set into the side walls — so height and recline change by hand, in seconds, with no tools. Exclusive to the Smart Sauna.
Whether it’s a six-foot-four adult or a teenager, each can dial in the perfect comfort for their session.
Patent-pending.

Problems You Won't Have

An electrician bill before installation?
It runs on an ordinary 120V, 15-amp outlet so no special outlet is needed. And it remains movable if you decide you prefer it in the spare bedroom, basement, or anywhere in your next home.

Nowhere to put your phone or tablet?
If you bring your device in, the inside door handle doubles as a towel bar and a convenient place to rest it at viewing height.
U.S. Patent No. 12,734,109

A roof you can't clean?
Most sauna roofs are plywood and too rough to run a cloth over, so whatever lands up there stays there. Ours cleans in seconds.

Nowhere to set your water?
The front heaters have flat tops at exactly the right place to set your water. Otherwise the only surface in a sauna is the bench, and your drink is using the seat next to you.
Recommended by More Practitioners Than Any Other Sauna
High Tech Health saunas also appear in more than 40 published books on detoxification, longevity, and environmental health.
That same mix of health and engineering expertise shapes the sauna itself. Our design team includes an electrical engineer, a chiropractor, a holistic health practitioner, a nutritionist, a biochemist, a biologist, and a psychotherapist. It takes longer and costs more to build a sauna our way. We think the difference shows up in the measurements.
“I rave about HTH to anyone and everyone! My far-Infrared sauna and I have been through thick and thin for over 20 years. I have carried her with me all over the country and she’s still in perfect shape, healing my injuries time and time again. I can’t thank this company enough.”
“This has made such a profound difference in how my brain works, significantly improving sleep with each passing week and sense of well-being! I am truly convinced you couldn’t make a better purchase for long-term health than these saunas!”
Not sure the TRS‑1 is the right one?
It takes about 90 seconds: Answer a few questions about your room, your week, and what you want out of it, and we’ll help you find your perfect sauna.

What People Ask Before They Order
What's the difference between the TR-1 and the TRS-1?
Identical size, heaters, solid wood, ventilation, backrest, and field mitigation. The TRS-1 adds its 10.1″ display, remote app and scheduled warm-up, per-person profiles and history, Sauna Fitness™ to show how your body is adapting, and Sauna Guide™ to help you decide when to sauna and how long to stay in.
Does it need a special outlet or an electrician to set up?
No — only an ordinary 120V 15A household outlet required.
Does Sauna Fitness measure my body?
No. It's an index computed from your *predicted* core temperature and your session history, using a model built from thousands of core temperature measurements taken from people using our saunas.
How is that different from a sauna with wellness programs?
A program is a fixed sequence — it runs the same whether you're a 6'4" athlete or new to this. Ours predicts what your body is doing, adjusts what it suggests to you, and tracks your response over time.
Is anything covering your heaters?
No, a protector prevents your fingers from touching them, not blocking the infrared output. Some saunas cover their heaters with fabric. A published emissivity figure describes the heater surface underneath, not what comes through the cover — which is why we measure absorption into a beaker instead of quoting a surface property.
Why does the warranty for the screen differ from the sauna?
Because it's a computer. Ten years for residential use on the cabin, heaters and heating electronics; three years on the display and controls, one on the stereo.
Does it need Wi-Fi to work?
No. The screen, heaters, guidance, index, scheduled warm-up, and even voice-control all work standalone. Wi-Fi or Ethernet enables remote start and streaming.
Does the app cost anything?
No. It is a free download.
Can more than one person use it?
Yes — each person gets their own profile, settings, history, and Sauna Fitness. It can hold 12 profiles.
Should I get the two-person if I'll use it alone?
Usually, yes. The two-person bench is wide enough to sit sideways with your legs up, the one-person bench is not. Choose the one-person when your space won't fit the two-person. If you're unsure, mark the footprint on the floor with tape and leave it a day — that often clarifies it the best.
How long does it take to warm up?
About 15 minutes from 70°F to 100°F. If you use the app to remote start, or schedule it, it's ready before you arrive.
How hot does it get, and how hot should it be?
It reaches up to 158°F. Most sessions run between 100°F and 140°F. Far infrared works more by what it delivers to you, not just how hot the cabin air is, which is why an effective session doesn’t require the highest air temperature.
How does it get here, and how hard is assembly?
Prepaid freight, curbside on a pallet, 7–9 working days. Two people, about an hour, one screwdriver. The power electronics aren't in the roof, so the heaviest piece isn't the one going overhead.
What should I ask about EMF?
Which fields, at what distance, and whether the full report is published — magnetic, electric and radio-frequency are three different questions. Ours are 0.36 mG and 0.089 V/m at the backrest, the highest readings found. And ask about an app-controlled sauna what its radio does during a session...ours can turn off.
Do the voice commands require the internet to work?
No. Unlike typical voice assistants, our sauna processes your commands locally—no data is ever sent over the internet.
Do the voice commands make this a good choice for the vision impaired?
Yes, we think so! While not everything the sauna does or its settings can be handled by voice, all the primary functions are easily controlled by voice.
Does Wi-Fi control require you to be on the same network as the sauna?
No. This is true for some other saunas, but not ours. You can start this sauna from anywhere.
What maintenance does it need?
Very little. Put a towel on the bench and floor during your session and there isn't much inside the sauna that needs cleaning. The heaters and lighting are designed for long service life, and the lacquered roof wipes clean easily.
