Sizing & Placement for a 1-Person Infrared Sauna
The TR-1 has the smallest footprint of any sauna we make — which means it fits in spaces most people would never think to put a sauna. Here is everything you need to plan your setup.
Fits Almost Anywhere
You need a floor area of roughly 3½' × 3½' and a ceiling height of at least 6'6". That is smaller than most closets — the TR-1 fits comfortably in a bedroom corner, home office, apartment living room, or walk-in closet.
The diagonal bench design maximizes legroom and elbow space inside a compact footprint. The glass door and side windows prevent any enclosed feeling.
Best Rooms
Our 1-person customers most commonly place the TR-1 in a master bedroom, home office, spare room, or apartment living room. Walk-in closets with enough ceiling height work surprisingly well. An insulated garage is another popular choice. The sauna produces no steam or moisture, so no special room preparation is needed.
Electrical
The TR-1 plugs into a standard 120V, 15-amp household outlet — the same type used by a lamp or phone charger. At just 960 watts, it draws less power than most space heaters. No electrician, no special wiring, no additional cost.
Ventilation & Plumbing
None required. Our saunas are dry-heat — they produce no steam and need no drain. The built-in active ventilation system manages air exchange within the cabin automatically. You can place the sauna in any room with standard heating and cooling.
Delivery & Assembly
Your sauna as boxed and wrapped panels via freight shipping with free delivery in the continental US. Every panel fits easily through a standard doorway. The TR-1 is our lightest model — most customers complete assembly in about 45 minutes, and it can realistically be done solo. (But help is always suggested)
Apartment & Condo Friendly
The TR-1 is ideal for apartments and condos. It uses a standard outlet, produces no steam or moisture, requires no permanent installation, and disassembles completely if you move. Several customers have taken their saunas through multiple apartments over the years. No landlord modifications needed.
Moving & Relocating
Because the sauna assembles with buckle hardware rather than permanent fasteners, it can be fully disassembled and reassembled anywhere. The 1-person panels are light, making the TR-1 the easiest model to relocate.
