Infrared Sauna Maintenance: How to Keep Your Investment Looking and Performing Like New
Infrared saunas come in many varieties and levels of quality. One of the best things about owning a High Tech Health infrared sauna is how little ongoing maintenance is required. Unlike cheaper and less well designed models that need frequent part replacements, our saunas are engineered with precision and durability in mind.
Our heaters, wood, wiring, and control systems are designed for long-term reliability and are proven to last for decades. Your only job is to sit back, relax, and enjoy the many wellness benefits.
Component Maintenance
Heaters:
Our patented heaters are made of high-grade metals. This makes them extremely durable. In fact, in our 27 year history we have yet to need to replace a single heater! So you won’t need to do ANY maintenance on our heaters. Compare this to panel heaters that are made of many components (they sort of look like a circuit board) and typically last about 5 years and then need to be replaced.
Wood:
We use 100% single tongue-and-groove construction of low VOC Canadian hemlock or European poplar wood. This type of construction wedges the pieces together extremely tightly (to millimeter tolerances) which keeps them intact for decades. There are only two small things you’ll need to do to keep the wood in perfect shape.
1. Use a towel on the bench and floor each session so most of your sweat goes into the towels. You can also consider bringing in a third towel to wipe the sweat off as you go.
2. Give the interior wood panels occasional wet rag wipe downs. This is enough to remove light dust or residue that can build up over time. Far infrared light is a natural disinfectant against mold spores, bacteria, and even in some cases viruses so it cleans itself in that sense when it runs!
Wiring:
Our owner is an electrical engineer and designed all of our wiring. His expertise means you will not need to worry about replacing cheap wiring, which can be very difficult as they go through the walls of the sauna and so could mean having to purchase whole new panels if the wiring fails. Additionally, we have never had a fire from our saunas in our company history. Not only longevity of the wiring but safety of the wiring is a huge consideration and another reason why to buy a High Tech Health Sauna.
Control and Display Panel:
Our control panel on our Foundation Models and display panel on our Smart Models are designed by our president and our lead technician who has decades of experience in software architecture and human-centered design thinking. There is no maintenance you will need to do on these panels and they also last for decades!
