Comparing Saunas: Warranty
Every company will tell you their sauna comes with a warranty that lasts a certain period of time. Unfortunately, that is usually all they say. That is not enough information to compare warranties. For instance, no matter how long their warranty is, every warranty we know of excludes use in a public location, such as a doctor’s office or clinic. High Tech Health’s sauna warranties have no such limitation. Perhaps they offer a very long warranty instead, but if they have such high confidence in their product, why does their warranty require the product not be used a lot? We think we know why.
The Most Important Aspect of a Warranty
The most important aspect of a sauna’s warranty is the company that is offering it. A warranty has no value if the company that provided it is no longer in business. Statistics show that in the United States, only 50% of new businesses will survive 4 years and only 29% will survive 10 years. With regard to sauna companies in the United States, we know of only 4 that exist today that have been around for over 10 years. All the rest are new. That means that most of the sauna warranties being offered today are worthless.
Avoid buying a sauna from a young company that probably will not be around in the future. Don’t simply rely on a website or the salesperson’s statement about the age of a company – most are not being honest because they don’t want to lose your business. There are several things you can do to protect yourself. You can look for companies with a good and long reputation that they will want to protect. That means looking at companies that your health practitioner or friend or family member has experience with and recommends. That means only considering companies that have been mentioned in books that you can check the copyright and know the company has been in business at least that long. If you are considering buying from a company that did not come recommended, you can at least look up on the internet to see when their company was incorporated. Know that there are plenty of half-truths on the internet such as “28 years of experience” or “15 years in the sauna business” – who knows what they are talking about, but it is not their company and it is not a reflection of the strength of their company.
High Tech Health
No other sauna company comes more recommended. Chances are good that you are reading this now because your health practitioner recommended that you talk to us. As a corporation, we have been in continuous existence since 1983. We have been doing the exact same work we do now since 1994 so that is the date we feel more honestly reflects our history. But don’t take my word for it – the first book to be published that mentions us, No More Heartburn by Sherry Rogers, MD, was published in February of 2000.
